Mrs. Carol I. Hutchison Hewitt, 61, of Columbia, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 after a 16 year battle with cancer. Born in Columbia on February 26, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Wilferd and Edna Lee Craig Hutchison. A loving wife and mother, Carol courageously fought her disease with grace and dignity.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Guy Earl Hewitt, Jr; her daughter, Bobbi Ann Hewitt of Columbia; a son, Guy Earl Hewitt, II (Tonya) of Columbia; grandchildren, Kaylee, Anthony and Arielle Beanard, Michael and Cody Bateman; sisters, Mary Dowd (Ray), Billie Lawler and Doris Koerner; brother, Charles Hutchison.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hewitt will be held at 3 o'clock, Thursday, June 4th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia with The Rev. Doug Benton officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
