Allen James Nesbitt, 69, of Columbia, died Thursday, December 19, 2019. Born in Lynchburg, SC, on August 5, 1950, he was a son of the late William R. Nesbitt, Sr. and Bessie Mae Brown Nesbitt.

Survivors include his sisters, Ruby Ross, Sarah Sturgeon, both of Elgin, SC and Lil Chavis (James), of Eastover, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Varnadore; and a brother, William Nesbitt, Jr.

The funeral service for Mr. Nesbitt will be held 3 o'clock, Monday, December 23rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia with the Rev. Reese Byrd and the Rev. Ann Byrd officiating. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Hostetter, Hunter Hostetter, Brendan Sturgeon, Rick Chavis, Thomas Nesbitt and T.J Branham.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Babcock Center for their love and care shown to Allen throughout his life.
