Bryan Eugene Garrett, 54, of Columbia, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Born in Beaufort, SC on August 20, 1960, he was a son of Mrs. Jimmie Bland Garrett and the late Claude Harold Garrett. Bryan was a loving grandfather and a wonderful son. A member of Willow Ridge Baptist Church in West Columbia, he loved music and played bass guitar in a band.

Survivors include his mother; daughters, Serene (Mikael) Owens of Lexington, Patra Garrett of Cayce; brother, Harold Garrett of Lexington; sisters; Amelia (Jim Miller) Brazell of San Diego, CA, Anne Shirley of Lexington, Mary Garrett of Columbia; aunt, Sybil (Dave) Kosick of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Shayla and Jace Epps and Harper Owens. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Claudia Tarter.

The funeral service for Mr. Garrett will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, December 27th at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel with The Rev. James A. Goudelock officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Friday evening at the funeral home.
