Eugenia "Ginger" R. Rigdon, 87, of Columbia, died Thursday, October 25, 2018. Born in Columbia, SC, on September 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Logan Rosborough, Sr. and Lily Wannnamaker Rosborough. Mrs. Rigdon was employed for 30 years as an administrative assistant with the University of South Carolina Basketball Department. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church where she formerly sang in the Magnifiers choir. Mrs. Rigdon enjoyed square dancing, traveling, camping, hosting family dinners, and watching and attending University of South Carolina Athletic Events.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, James "Jim" L. Rigdon, Sr.; son James "Jim" L. Rigdon, Jr. (fiancé Janis Whisenant) of Columbia; grandson, Travis Christian Rigdon (Erina Kay) of Atlanta, GA; great-grandson, Bennett Daniel Rigdon of Atlanta, GA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Logan Rosborough, Jr.; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Rosborough Williamson; and her half-sister, Lily Myra Crider Davis.

The funeral service for Mrs. Rigdon will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, October 28th, at Shives Funeral Home, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia with Dr. Robert Walker and Rev. Joseph Calhoun Watson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. Burial will be held at 12 o'clock, Tuesday, October 30th in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery.
