Mrs. Fae H. Williams's Obituary

Fae Hennies Williams, 93, of Columbia, died Monday, August 30, 2021. Born August 19, 1928, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Walter Blanton Hennies, Sr. and Helen Yongue Hennies.

Mrs. Williams spent her entire life in Columbia. She attended Taylor Elementary School, Wardlaw Junior High School, and was a 1945 graduate of Columbia High School. Mrs. Williams was a faithful, devoted, charter member descendent of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She loved her church family and was very active in various church activities and organizations. For ten years Mrs. Williams was St. Paul's Church Secretary. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an administrative assistant for J.W. Hunt and Company.

She enjoyed traveling across the United States, as well as Europe. Mrs. Williams loved tending to her yard, especially her flower beds. She routinely was involved in visiting the sick and elderly and volunteered her time with the Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Survivors include her children, Jack C. Williams (Susie) of Summerville, SC, Norma Davis (Glen) of Jacksonville, NC, and Mary "Mimi" Dail (Tommy) of Columbia. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, as well as her brother-in-law, Alfred Behles, her sister-in-law, Carolyn Hennies and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Hennies, Lucy H. Behles, and Walter B. Hennies, Jr.

The memorial service for Mrs. Williams will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, September 7th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Tony A. Metze officiating. The committal service will follow in the Ethel Edwards' Columbarium and Ash Garden.

The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service in the Good Shepherd Room at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bull Street entrance, beginning at 2 PM. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of National Healthcare-Parklane, especially Wing 200, and Abbey Road Hospice for their devoted care of Mrs. Williams. The family would also like to thank niece, Linda W. Murphy for her many caring visits over the years.
