Jackie Kahrs Hardy, 70, of Blythewood, died Friday, October 27, 2017. Born June 10, 1947 in Charleston, she was a daughter of the late John Adolph Kahrs and Dorothy Carr Kahrs. Jackie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She spent many years of her life in service to others through her work in public education, the Miss South Carolina pageant, and ministry at her church, Good Shepherd Lutheran. She also enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Jackie and her late husband, Bobby, took pride in their two children, Robin and Robbie, through their love of dance and athletics. She attended AC Flora High School and Winthrop University and worked with SCE&G, Richland School District Two, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Robin L. Hardy of Winnsboro; son, Robert E. Hardy Jr. (Lea); grandsons, Tyler, Scott and Greyson Hardy, all of Lexington; a sister, Kathy Kahrs of Atlanta; and a brother, Al Kahrs of Columbia.

A funeral service will be held 3 o'clock, Monday, October 30th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, at the church, prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
