Jane Worthy Rando, 83, of Columbia, died Monday, August 21, 2023. Born in Washington, DC, she was a daughter of the late William Buford and Dorothy Faris Worthy and widow of Charles Robert Rando.

A graduate of Columbia High School, Jane attended Columbia Commercial College, USC, Clemson University, and Midlands Technical College. She worked as a legal secretary with the SC Department of Social Services in Child Support Services. Jane was a member of the Columbia chapter of the DAR and had been active in the Satchel Ford PTA for over 12 years and taught Vacation Bible School for 12 years at North Trenholm Baptist Church. She was published in Reader's Digest.

Survivors include her sons, Jackie R. Gregory, Jr. (Anne Marie) of Pawleys Island, William Michael Gregory of Cayce; stepchildren, Toni Willis, Terri Rando, Tammie Melder (Van); grandchildren, Ben Leonhardt (Danielle), Michael Johnson Gregory, Caroline Gregory, Lindsay Gregory, Hayden Gregory; sister, Cynthia Worthy and nephew, John Crammond of New Jersey. In addition to her loving husband, Jane was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dorothy Worthy Harvey.

The memorial service for Mrs. Rando will be held at 2 o'clock on Friday, August 25th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Extension, Columbia, SC 29223. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
