Jane Beatrice Montgomery Simoneau, 93, of Columbia, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Born August 10, 1925, in Oak Park, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Viola Montgomery.
Jane was a long-time employee of Coats Tax Service. She was active in the Rose Hill Presbyterian Church, choir, ladies circle, prayer group and book club. She was an avid reader, loved doing handwork such as quilting and making and sending cards.
Survivors include her children, David Simoneau (Suzanne), Jim Simoneau (Susan), Joe Simoneau (Pat), and daughter-in-law, Ginny Simoneau; sister, Lola Bruner (Jim); 14 grandchildren, Amy Anderson (Clint), Patrick Simoneau (Jolena), Margaret "Maggie" Simoneau, Shannon Simoneau, Matthew Simoneau (Heather), Joy Simoneau, Joel Simoneau (Hayley), Jonathan Simoneau (Hannah), Laura Whitten (Wilson), Daniel Simoneau (Tracy), Mark Simoneau (Jessie), Christy Simoneau, Philip Simoneau (Emily), and Robert Simoneau; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Simoneau, son, Paul Simoneau, grandson, Christopher Simoneau, and brothers, Robert and Johnny Montgomery.
The funeral service for Mrs. Simoneau will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, November 25th at Rose Hill Presbyterian Church with Dr. Maxwell Rogland officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall, beginning at 2 o'clock. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
