Joanne Comer Dunn, 88, of Columbia, died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 6, 2018. She was born August 8, 1930 in Highpoint, NC to the late Kelly Winfred Comer and Bessie Geneva Curlee Comer. She graduated from High Point College where she met her husband of 60 years, The Rev. Charles L. Dunn, a United Methodist Minister. She received her master's degree from Converse College. Joanne was an English/Drama School teacher, a business woman and her husband's partner in spreading the Word of God. Her strong faith in the Lord, love of family and friends, made them a perfect couple. Her husband preceded her in death in 2013.

Joanne Dunn is survived by her son, Charles Mitchell Dunn (Julie); daughters, Carole Anne Wall (Mike), Pamela Dianne DeLaBarre (Charles), Jean Lynette Jenkins (Willis); and her grandchildren, Charles Travas Dunn (Heather), Francis Elwyn Dunn (Berri), Wayne Edward Brown (Monica), Andrew Michael Wall (Haley), Kimberly Brown Urdahl (Lewis), Tyler Stuart Wall (Chelsey), Christopher Mitchell Dunn, Tok Kim, Willis H Jenkins, III (Mary Ann), Matthew Preston Jenkins; and her great-grandchildren, Chandler Scott Wise, Caitlin Alyssa Jenkins, Summer Marie Brown, Valerie Michelle Jenkins, Abigayle Christine Dunn, Brayden Riley Hicks, Evan Scott Barberon, Jackson Audie Urdahl, and Brooks Stuart Wall.

The funeral service for Mrs. Dunn will be held 1 o'clock, Saturday, October 13th, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 4600 Daniel Drive, Columbia, SC with The Rev. Lex McDonald and The Rev. Sandra Stillinger officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Rd., Columbia SC. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock, Friday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Columbia SC.
