John Anthony Fronczek, 86, of Columbia, died Saturday, August 19, 2023.
John grew up in Footedale, Pennsylvania, with his 12 siblings. He met his wife while serving in the US Army, they remained happily married for 56 years and raised seven children together. He went on to work at Lincoln Electric where he retired in 1999. After his wife "Dotty" passed he dedicated countless hours painting on canvas with incredible detail the award winning quilts she created. John made it a point to have fun and was always available for a round of cards or a last minute dinner invite. He was always present for his family and eager to help in any way possible. Throughout his life, he was a son, a brother, a husband, a grandfather and he was our dad. Rest in peace, Dad.
Survivors include his sons, John D. Fronczek (Rita), Stephen J. Fronczek (Julia), and Jeffery P. Fronczek; daughters, Christine M. Fronczek, Cheryl L. Fronczek, Denise L. Bush (Mark), and Jennifer L. Martin (Brian); grandchildren, Matthew, Drew, Brett, Stephen, Justin, Nathan, Austin, Kylie, Jason, Ashlyn, Anna, Cecilia, and Charlotte; and great grandchildren, Milina, McKenna, Nolan, Ashlyn, Charlie, Olivia, and Ellie. Also surviving is his brother, Raymond Fronczek and sister, Barbara Single (Dan). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dottie" A. Fronczek and ten siblings.
The graveside service for Mr. Fronczek will be held at 2 o'clock on Thursday, August 24th, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:30 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC.
