Staff Sgt. Jonathan Turner (USAF), 28 of Columbia, died Saturday, January 16, 2016. Born July 9, 1987, in Columbia, he was a son of Scott and Joy Eastlake Turner. A graduate of Richland Northeast High School, Jonathan proudly served in the US Air Force for nine years, and was currently stationed at Pope Air Force Base. His military service led him to tours in Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar. Jonathan was a car enthusiast, and he loved sharing what he knew with others.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Lisa Marie Turner; his parents; and brother, Justin Turner and wife, Ashley; nephew, Presley Alexander Turner. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Cheryl Eastlake; uncles, Gary Eastlake and John Eastlake, Jr.; and grandparents, John and Dimple Irene Eastlake, and Henry William and Margaret June Turner.
The service for Mr. Turner will be held at 3 o'clock, Sunday, January 24th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext, Columbia, with interment in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery at 1 o'clock, Tuesday, January 26th. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
