Juda W. Reinhardt, died suddenly Tuesday, December 14th, at Prisma Health Richland after a traumatic fall. Born, May 2nd, 1940, in Gastonia, NC, she was the daughter of Jonathan Gates Williams and Verdi Lee Williams. She was a graduate of Frank L. Ashley High School in Gastonia where she met her sweetheart, Richard. She attended Brenau College and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
She and Richard were married in October 1962 and moved to Columbia in 1970.
She was a longtime member of The Summit Club and Rockbridge Club where she was an avid tennis player and where she made many lifelong friends. She loved tending her flowers, hummingbirds, blue birds, and her time at the beach at Isle of Palms. She loved to travel and visited many different countries. Because of Richards association with the FivePoints Wild Irish Band, she marched with them and carried a banner in Millennium Day Parade in London, England and The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. She was a true Gamecock fan who especially enjoyed football and basketball.
She loved her Eastminster church family and was an Elder, a member of the Spiritual Discoveries Sunday School Class and served at Transitions. Most of all she loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, of 59 years; daughter, Amy R. Reiland and her husband, Doug of Columbia; son, Dr. Richard B. Reinhardt, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Spartanburg, SC. She was affectionately known as Gann Gann to her six grandchildren, Will Reiland of Charlotte NC, Emily Reiland of Charleston SC, Matthew Reiland of Columbia SC, Adam Reinhardt, Andrew Reinhardt, and wife, Samantha, and Alexis Reinhardt, all of Spartanburg SC, as well as her brother, Steve Williams of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Pallbearers will be James H. Stewart, Dr. Robert Bethea, and her 4 grandsons.
Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the many friends who have shown their love and support.
The funeral service for Mrs. Reinhardt will be held 2 o'clock, Monday, December 20th at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 3200 Trenholm Rd, Columbia, SC 29204. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Ave, Columbia, SC 29201.
The family will greet friends on Sunday, December 19th from 4 until 6 o'clock, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC 29223.
