Julius "Mickey" Gary Brazell, 58, of Columbia, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 21, 1954 in Columbia, he was a son of the late Rev. David R. Brazell and Nellie Wallace Brazell. He worked at International Paper and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and son-in-law.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Gail Scott Brazell; sons, Charles Brazell of Columbia, Scott (Candace) Brazell of Columbia; brothers, Ronnie (Vicki) Brazell of Greenville, M. Levi (Donna) Brazell of Eastover, Cecil (Jackie) Brazell of Columbia, Carl (Kathy) Brazell of Elgin, Rev. Kenneth (Linda) Brazell of Lugoff; sisters, Rev. Nancy Brazell of Elgin, Joyce Brazell of Elgin; grandchildren, Lacey Brazell, Scott Brazell, Jr.

A funeral service for Mr. Brazell will be held at 11 o'clock, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, with The Rev. Bryon Powers officiating. Interment will follow in Royal Pines Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
