Leo Donald LaMoy, 86, of Rembert, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, on April 14, 1936, he was the son of the late Abram and Bernice Turner LaMoy. A long time member of Trinity Baptist Church of Lugoff, he loved the Lord with all his heart and strongly believed in the power of prayer. He enjoyed time as both a Mason and Shriner.

Don was a true outdoorsman, with a passion for deer hunting and working with his hands. He enjoyed fishing and cooked the best fried fish you ever tasted. Don had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. He laughed a lot, always told a good story, and never failed to put a smile on your face.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherry LaMoy Fasano (George); grandson, George Andrew LaMoy Fasano (Rebecca); granddaughters, Sara Fasano Player (Shane) and Kamlin Fasano Robertson (Bryan); great-grandson, Landon LaMoy Player; great-granddaughters, Mary Miles Player and Lyla James Fasano, as well as many cousins, nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Maxine Geiger LaMoy.

The service for Don will be held at 3 o'clock on Thursday, May 26th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. A private interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family would especially like to thank the wonderful staff of Covenant Place of Sumter, SC for their patient and loving care, as well as Amedisys for the care he received while on hospice. A favorite verse of Don's was James 5:16, "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
