Lester Lee McNeal, 67, of Elgin, died Monday, August 27, 2018. Born on July 9, 1951, in Sebring, Ohio, he was a son of the late Lester and Doris Jean McNeal. Lester was a Scout Leader for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for many years and served as a volunteer firefighter. He loved to cook and was very patriotic toward the country that he served.

Survivors include his loving wife and caregiver, Renee Dial McNeal; five children; one step-son; seven grandchildren; three step- grandchildren; brothers, Mike McNeal (Belinda), Tod McNeal, Shawn McNeal (Caroline); as well Renee's parents, Eual "Pender" and Jean Dial.

The funeral service for Mr. McNeal will be held 10 o'clock, Friday, August 31st, at Alpine Baptist Church with Pastor Robin Morrow officiating. Burial will follow the service in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
