Lind Barnett Morris Amick, 44, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully July 19, 2016. Born in Columbia, SC on February 21, 1972, she was a daughter of William Dickson Morris and Elizabeth Kay Lind Morris.

Lind was a graduate of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, attended Hollins University and graduated from the College of Charleston. She enjoyed working for Senator Strom Thurmond and the President Pro-Tempore's office in Washington, DC and back in Columbia until the Senator's retirement. In her move to Charlotte she worked as project manager for Bank of America and Ally Financial. Lind was a past member of the Junior League of Columbia and Eastminster Presbyterian Church, and a current member and past president of P.E.O. Chapter R in Charlotte - a women's group that promotes higher education in women.

Lind is survived by her husband, Christopher Lawrence Amick; her precious children, John Lawrence and Grace Barnett Amick, all of Charlotte; her parents, Kay and W.D. Morris; brother W.D. Morris Jr. (Blair) all of Columbia; sisters, Annabet Morris of Charlotte and Tricia Morris Yount (Adam) of Charleston; nieces and nephews, William, Henry, Porter, Elizabeth, Kate, and Hadley. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, and their wonderful dog, Charlie. She will also be dearly missed by her in-laws, Judy Amick and Mike Amick (Stephanie); and brother-in law, David Amick (Valerie) all of Charlotte. She was the rock for family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, with a note in memory of Lind Morris Amick, to Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, 3000 S. Beltline Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29201; P.E.O. Chapter R, North Carolina, P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education, 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312; Primrose School at Park Road Crossing, 10335 Feldfarm Lane, Charlotte, NC 28210; or to the charity of one's choice.

Friends and family are invited to a service in celebration and remembrance of Lind's life at 11 o'clock, Friday, July 22nd at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 3200 Trenholm Road, Columbia. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Thursday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery will be private.
