Mary F. Hatcher, 74, of Columbia, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Born in Laurinburg, NC, on August 24, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Wayne Hill and Eva Evans. Mary was a floral designer and a member of Shandon Baptist Church, where she was active in the Seekers Sunday school class.

Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia Jean Earley (John) of Elgin; her son, David Glenn Hatcher (Lori) of Columbia; grandson, Gerald Todd Hatcher of Columbia; granddaughters, Kristen Madrid (Michael) of Yokosuka, Japan, Mary Leigh Gaza (Josiah) of Lexington; two great-granddaughters; brothers, Tracy Gibson of Laurinburg, NC, James Neal of Columbia; a sister, Alice Boone of Laurinburg, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Kay Jackson; and her son, Luther Everette Hatcher, Jr.

Her funeral service will be held at 4 o'clock, Sunday, August 2nd at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia with the Rev. Jerry Long officiating. Interment will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3 o'clock.
