Patsy Doretha Welch Chapman, 80, of Lexington, died Thursday, March 12, 2015. Born in Columbia on March 28, 1934 she was a daughter of the late Arthur Robert and Viola Welch. Patsy was a retired school principal and a member of the Blythewood Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her children, David Randy Chapman (Arnold Theis) of Boca Raton, FL, Alyse Mazerolle of Boston, MA, Rebecca Strayer-Chapman of Lexington, and John Llewellyn Chapman (Jennifer) of Randolph, NJ; grandchildren, Thomas Edward Strayer, III (Maria) of Blacksburg, VA, Alexander Hayden Mazerolle and Jackson Lewis Mazerolle both of Boston, David James Strayer of Lexington, and Anderson Brighton Chapman of Randolph, NJ; a sister, Christine Hamiter of Columbia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings.

A graveside service for Mrs. Chapman will be held at 2 o'clock, Monday, March 16th at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia with Mr. Charles Young officiating.
