Paul Dillard Crossland was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 6, 2016. He was born in Columbia, SC on August 27, 1937, and was a son of Arthur William and Lottie Mae Stallings Crossland. Mr. Crossland graduated from Dreher High School and served in the US Army at Fort Hood, TX and Erlangen, Germany from 1957-1960. He was employed with Whaley Food Service for over 30 years, and was a charter member of Northeast Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Crossland is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jacqueline Gurecki Crossland; sons, William F. Crossland, Paul D. Crossland (Marie), and Robert Crossland (Janie); grandchildren, Katharine Krantz, Kevin Crossland, Dave Crossland, Allie Crossland, Ashley Crossland, Emily Crossland, Bobby Crossland, Rachel Crossland, and Sam Crossland; and great-grandchildren, Tinsley and Eliza Krantz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur William Crossland, Jr.
The family of Mr. Crossland will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 o'clock, Wednesday, November 9th, at Northeast Presbyterian Church, with a graveside service with military honors following at 3 o'clock at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. George D. Crow, III will officiate. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Legacy of Faith Program at Northeast Presbyterian Church, 601 Polo Rd., Columbia, SC 29223.
