Philip Francis Carmona,33, of Columbia, fell asleep in death on December 17 2018. Born November 3 1985 in Rochester, NY to David and Tracy Carmona. Philip was the firstborn of their 3 children. The Carmona family would move from Rochester, NY to Concord, NC in 1997 where Philip, a closet momma's boy, would graduate from Northwest Cabarrus High School in 2004.
For Philip his family was always top of mind and those relationships brought him great pleasure. His sister Kelsey was his mini-me, and he was eternally Lauren's protector. Philip immersed himself in a life that involved not only working in the family business, Nortek Construction, side by side with his father, but Philip and David had a shared love of music that lead them to perform together as the rock group, Carmona. Their most heartfelt song was written and performed by Philip for his high school sweetheart Michele, whom he eventually married on November 4, 2006.
Four words from the lyrics of that song so perfectly summed up their relationship. When Philip penned and sung the words: "I Know it's right", nothing truer could have been spoken. Nearly inseparable Philip and Michele did everything together, not out of obligation, but because of their deep love for each other and their tremendous friendship. That friendship and love was built upon a foundation of rock due to their mutual devotion to their faith and Jehovah God.
Philip had symbolized that devotion in baptism on January 27, 2002 and could always be found involved in theocratic projects, a highlight for the newlyweds being able to work hand in hand during the construction of the Concord, NC Kingdom hall.
Philip and Michele would relocate to SC in 2016. There they would attend the Spring Valley Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. The couple would work together at Southeastern Equipment in West Columbia. While many marriages would be strained by such an arrangement, Philip and Michele were not. This opportunity was welcome, brought them great joy and resulted in admiration from others.
Philip was known by many titles: Son, Husband, Brother, Nephew, Cousin, Uncle, Boss and Friend. Most of all though, he was known for his big heart, his great conversations, verbose vocabulary and thoughtful actions. Sadly though it would be his physical heart that would give out and result in his passing.
Surviving Philip's death are his wife Michele, parents Tracy & Dave, Sisters Lauren Karim & her husband Manir of NC, and Kelsey Rogers & her husband James of England. Grandparents Bonnie & Roger Osborn Of NY and Grandmother Laura Carmona (Predeceased by his Grandfather Alvaro). Also, Aunts and Uncles Jeffrey & Susan Carmona of Ohio, Edward & Jennifer Sheridan of NC, Keith & Holly Carmona of NY, Steve & Candy Irwin of NY, Shawn & Jennifer Osborn of NC, Michael & Jodi Kifer of NY, and Brion & April Edmiston of NY. Also, Brother and Sister in Law's Grady & Emily Martin of SC and Jonathan & Tiffany Gosney of FL, and Nephew Finn Martin of SC. Additionally, a host of cousins, co-workers, friends and spiritual brothers and sisters.
