Randolph Johnson, 74, of Columbia, died Friday, December 1, 2017. Born July 8, 1943 in Dorchester County, he was a son of the late Harmon Jerome Johnson and Sallie Jane Jones Johnson. He worked with McCrory Construction for over 30 years. Randolph worked out religiously and after he retired he bought his dream car, a Ford Mustang. His passion was his family and was looked up to by all his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Survivors include his wife of more than 54 years, Jeretha "Reba" Grooms Johnson; grandson, John Patton; sisters, Edna Listrom (Allen) of Columbia, Jeanne Beverly (Charles) of Myrtle Beach, Janice Ward (Dennis Miller) of Surfside Beach; aunt, Flora Mae Turner of Pensacola; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children; Randall Clay Johnson and Donna Johnson Patton; brothers, Kelly and Russell Johnson; sister, Audra Baker.
A service will be held 12:30 o'clock, Monday, December 4th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia with Pastor Brian Walker officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
