Mr. Roy David Garvin, 65, of Leesville, died Sunday, October 20, 2013. Born October 26, 1947, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Roy Redd Garvin and Helen Davidson Garvin. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Mr. Garvin worked with the SC Dept of Education. He loved boating and was an avid off-shore fisherman. David could build or fix anything.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Charleen Garvin; brothers, Dean (Dorothy) Garvin of Blackville, SC, Danny (Barbara) Garvin of Vidalia, GA, Doug (Ann) Garvin of Lexington, SC; sisters, Dale Garvin Roof of Charleston, SC, Delia (George) Shampy of Springdale, SC; nieces and nephews, Corey, Casey, Devin, Taylor, Avery, Daisy, Georgia, and Gabe; and his loving pets, Peanut, Sadie, Taz, and Thumper.

A graveside service for Mr. Garvin will be held 2 o'clock, Thursday, October 24th, at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends following the service. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Dr., Ste. 301, Cayce, SC 29033.
