Sue Graves Jennings, 82, of Columbia, died Thursday, June 16, 2016. Born in Columbia on September 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Henry Earle and Daisy Langley Aaron Graves. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church where she attended the Remnant Sunday School Class. Mrs. Jennings was a Phi Beta Kappa at USC and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She was a teacher of the five-year-old kindergarten class at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School and also served as the church secretary at Rose Hill Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Jennings is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Asbury Jennings; daughters, Mamie Jennings Mabery (Robert), Susan Earle Jennings, and Melissa Jennings Cauthen (Dwight); grandchildren, Richard Jennings Bell, Patrick Whittemore Bell, Dwight Moseley Cauthen, Jr., and Charles Barton Cauthen.
The memorial service for Mrs. Jennings will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, June 18th at The First Presbyterian Church, 1324 Marion Street, Columbia, with Dr. Derek W. H. Thomas and The Rev. L. Craig Wilkes officiating. Visitation with the family will follow in Jackson Hall. A private interment in Elmwood Cemetery will precede the service.
