Thomas Patrick Baskerville passed away on September 16, 2022. He was 56 years old. Thomas was born in Carrington, ND, the youngest of Phyllis and George Baskerville's six children. Always the overachiever, Thomas just had to beat all his older siblings to the gates of Heaven.
Thomas grew up in Carrington and Beulah, ND. He attended Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND before serving his country in the Air Force. He completed his degree in computer science at the College of Charleston, then went to work for PMSC, now DXC Technology, in Blythewood, where he was employed for over 25 years.
Thomas could figure out how to fix just about anything. He never cut corners. He enjoyed hikes in the mountains, especially ones that ended at waterfalls. He was an avid nature photographer. One of his greatest joys was cooking for his family, which he continued to do long after his disease rendered him unable to enjoy eating the meal himself.
He met every challenge of his pancreatic cancer diagnosis with courage and grace, without complaint, with a sense of humor, and always profound gratitude for all the good years he was blessed with.
Thomas is survived by his wife Amy, daughters Gracie and Alison, siblings Cathy, Jim (Josie), Mike, Dan (Betsy), and Chuck (Valerie), sister-in-law Carole (Chuck), brothers-in-law Chris (Connie) and Jeff, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Thomas would want you to hold your loved ones close, enjoy a hike in the woods, and count your blessings.
The funeral service for Mr. Baskerville will be held at 12 o'clock on Thursday, September 22nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC.
