Troy Michael Tucker, 48, of Lugoff, died Monday, July 10, 2017. Born in Columbia, SC on February 20, 1969, he was a son of Laurence Hughes Thomas (Ray) and Clifford Thomas Tucker. He was a 1987 graduate of Spring Valley High School. Troy began a career in law enforcement with the Columbia Police Department, and also worked for Richland and Calhoun County Sheriff's Departments as well as the St. Matthews Police Department. He was most recently employed with Ahern Rentals as a truck driver. Troy was a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church.

Troy loved life and he lived every day to the fullest. He loved working with and riding his motorcycle. Troy could drive anything - from any kind of machinery to any type of vehicle. He loved to keep the gears turning in his semi, but most of all loved his friends and family, especially his baby girl, "Bear". He had a generous heart and helped so many people. Troy loved the mountains and dreamed of living out west one day. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents and stepfather, he is survived by his daughter, McKenzie Tucker; brothers, Darrell Tucker (Karen), and Randolph Tucker (Lauren); sister, Kimberly Hunley (Mark); nephews, Collin Miles, Colby Miles, and Carson Miles; nieces, Reese Tucker, Denton Strayer, and Riley Strayer; and a great-nephew, Kannen Sims.

The funeral service for Mr. Troy Tucker will be held 4 o'clock, Friday, July 14, 2017 at Spears Creek Baptist Church, with Pastor Greg Sweet officiating. Burial will be in the churchyard. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Spears Creek Baptist Church Youth Fund, 116 Spears Creek Church Lane, Elgin, SC 29045
