Wade Lavern Davis, 66, of Columbia, died Monday, April 11, 2016. Born July 4, 1949, he was a son of Jimmy L. and Elizabeth Berry Davis. He was a graduate of Blythewood High School, and attended Central Wesleyan College and USC. Wade worked for several years in the banking industry before starting his own sports memorabilia business, Dad's Dugout. Not only did he love sports, Wade enjoyed writing poetry, and was the author of the book, "Mirror of My Time".
Wade is survived by his special friend, Sharee Watkins; daughter, Shana Marie Davis; son, Ben Davis; grandsons, Darren Tyler Sullivan, Jack Henry Davis, and Mason Lee Davis; sisters, Debra Davis, and Gayle Marks (Hugh); and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughters; Kaitlyn Marie Sullivan and Amberlynn Elizabeth Sullivan.
The funeral service for Mr. Davis will be held 1 o'clock, Thursday, April 14th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, please contact the family for memorial suggestions.
