Andrew Homer Coleman, 87, of Columbia, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016. A son of the late Andrew Thomas and Lois Wilkinson Coleman, he was married to Sarah Sloan Coleman for 62 years.
Mr. Coleman was a member of Ebenezer Holiness Baptist Church, and served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He was an avid fisherman, who loved growing peanuts, and enjoyed being with his family. Mr. Coleman was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ronald A. Coleman (Shelly) of Thomasville, NC, Mark G. Coleman (Pam) of Blythewood, Wanda P. Cooke (Darrel) of Lugoff; grandchildren, David Coleman, Kelly Brown, Jon Mark Coleman, Maria DeBlasio, Margaret Coleman, Ashley Coleman, Andrea Crotts, Adderly Coleman, Adam Peake, Jessica Bowers; 14 great grandchildren; and brother, Donald Coleman (Opal) of Milner, GA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and Bobby Coleman.
A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Saturday, September 17th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., with The Rev. Kenneth Walter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.
