Cleo D. Nates, 81, of Columbia, died Saturday, January 14, 2017. Born January 8, 1936, in Wayne County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Cleveland Davis and Lucille Jones Davis.

Survivors include her loving husband, Tommy Nates; daughters, Della Templeton and Kandi (Rose) Stewart; grandchildren, Chris Dicks and Trey Warren; great granddaughter, Anna Warren; a sister, Elizabeth Stillwell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Wiley.

The graveside service for Mrs. Nates will be held 11 o'clock, Tuesday, January 17th, at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Rd. with The Rev. Nancy Brazell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
