Dale Marie Boykin Newman, 68, of Columbia, died Saturday, October 18, 2014. Born in Columbia on November 12, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth Raymond Boykin and Mary Lou Davis.

Survivors include her children, Mary "Puddin' Newman (Don) of Lexington, Darla Marie Newman (Glen) of West Columbia, Norma Jean Newman and Marvin William "Billy" Newman (Julie) all of Gaston; grandchildren, TJ Geddings, Samantha Newman, Lance Swygert (Krystal Marie); great-grandchildren, Vaden Swygert, Kaylin and Aubrey Geddings; a sister, Diane Davis Ringer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest William Newman, and an infant grandson of Mary Newman.

The funeral service for Mrs. Newman will be held at 11 o'clock, Wednesday, October 22nd at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. Interment will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock.
