A celebration of life service for Damon Zachariah Slanker will be held Sunday, September 23 at 2:00 at First Presbyterian Church, Columbia. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, he was the son of Langley Damon Burch and Andrew Jay Slanker. He graduated from Richland Northeast High School in 2007 and was pursuing an engineering career.

Damon was an avid fan of all sports, both college and professional, but he was totally dedicated to his Florida Gators. His life reflected his wide-ranging interests in literature, video gaming, fantasy sports, music, protecting animals, family, and friends. The love of his life was Lindsey Fisher, with whom he was blessed to share an unconditional love.

Besides Lindsey, Damon is survived by his mother (Tom Shealy) and father (Karen), his brother Elijah Burch, step-brothers Kevin and Justin Waugh, grandmother Sue Linyard, grandfather Frank Aimar Damon (Cindy), and beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the United States.

The family will welcome visitors at the home of Langley Burch following the service at 3715 Northshore Road, Columbia, SC, 29206.
