Frances Brantley Bollin, widow of Alexander Wright Bollin Jr., daughter of Laura Brock and Tony Edgar Brantley, was born in Wilson, NC November 12, 1929. She was educated in the public school system in Wilson. She moved to Columbia, SC, in 1948, where she met and married "Alex." This union lasted 58 years, until his death in 2007. She was a state employee, having worked in the Adjutant General's office, the South Carolina Tax Commission, Income Tax Division, and finally, the Board of Financial Institutions, Consumer Finance Division. She retired in 1992 with 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels' Episcopal Church since 1958, where she taught church-school in her younger years. Later, she served as a member of the Altar Guild. She held her St Michael's family close to her heart.
She is predeceased by her daughters, Laura Bollin Temple and Frances Elizabeth Bollin. She is survived by her granddaughter, Dawn Temple Barton (Tyler); two great grandchildren, Ethan Andrew Barton and Laura Elizabeth Barton; her son-in-law, Andrew P Temple (Patti); and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11:00am Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Michael and All Angels' Episcopal Church. Interment will be in the churchyard. The family will greet friends following the service in Sturtevant Hall. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
