Rev. George Wilbur Wise, 89, of Columbia, died December 15, 2014. Born September 30, 1925, in Columbia, he was a son of the late John George and Lessie C. Fulmer Wise. George was a US Army veteran of World War II, and a retired Wesleyan Methodist pastor. He was a loving and caring husband and Dad.

Survivors include his son, John Wesley Wise; and daughter-in-law, Libby Mack, of Columbia; and brothers, Julian F. and Johnnie E. Wise, both of Columbia. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Alice Taylor Wise; and daughter, Peggy Ann Wise.

The funeral service for Rev. Wise will be held 1 o'clock, Saturday, Dec. 20th, at Northeast Wesleyan Church, with The Rev. Cecil Bayne and The Rev. Stephen Love officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Friday evening, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia.
