Karen Lynda Foxon, 53, of Columbia, died Saturday, March 29, 2014. Born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa on April 8, 1960, she was the daughter of Sydney and Shirlee Gandy. Ms. Foxon worked at both Palmetto Health Richland and Providence Northeast hospitals as a Registered Nurse for many years.

Survivors include her sons, Darren (Megan) Foxon of Camden and Kyle Foxon of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; her brother, Shane (Brenda) Gandy of Ridgeway; and her mother, Shirlee Gandy of Ridgeway. She was preceded in death by her father, Sydney Gandy.

The memorial service for Ms. Foxon will be held at 11:00 Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Ln, Columbia, SC 29210.
