Peter Russell Prime, 63, of Lexington, died Thursday, May 15, 2014. Born in Elizabethtown, NY, he was a son of Betty Wyrick Prime Pruner and the late William Prime. Peter was a veteran of the US Air Force, and managed Morrison's Cafeteria, Golden Corral and Picadilly's. For the past five years, he ran Bateman Senior Meals.
Survivors include his wife, Sherri Bigby Prime; children, Lisa (Randy) Ray of Columbia, Betty (Kevin) Prime of Charleston, and Colbert Prime of Lexington; grandchildren, Slate and Lily Ray; siblings, Robert (Carolyn) Prime of Pensacola, FL, Martha (Ralph) Rohrbaugh of Westerville, OH, and Ellen (Joe) Pillitary of Elberta, AL; siblings-in-law, Bernard (Peggy) Bigby, Jeff (Pam) Bigby, and Phil (Karen) Bigby; his mother, Betty Wyrick Prime Pruner of Pensacola, FL; and mother-in-law, Nadine Bigby of Columbia, SC; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Peter was preceded in death by his father, William Prime; step-father, Robert Pruner; father-in-law, Colbert Buffington Bigby; siblings, Margaret Prime, Ruth (George) Iko; Leo Paul Prime; and brothers-in-law, Ralph Beauchamp and Bryon Bigby.
A memorial service for Mr. Prime will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, May 18th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. Inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park at a later time.
