Theresa Piendl Sharpe, 86, of Columbia, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Born November 7, 1926, in Worth on the Danube, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Johann and Maria Schweiger Piendl. She moved to the United States in 1949 and moved to South Carolina in 1959. She was a homemaker and worked at Bendix Corporation in South Carolina until her retirement.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosemary Theresa Gautier; son, Billie C. Hicks and wife, Donna, of Eagle River, Alaska; step-son, Ronald Eugene Sharpe and wife, Dot, of Sumter. In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Eugene Edward Sharpe; and step-daughter, Gail Sharpe Hudson.

The funeral service for Mrs. Sharpe will be held 11:30 o'clock, Tuesday, June 4th, at the graveside of Memorial Gardens of Columbia, with The Rev. Brett DeYoung officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock, prior to the service at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia.
