Obituary

Willis Eugene Osburn, 92, of Columbia, died Saturday, March 19, 2022. Born October 6, 1929, in Van Leer, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Jerry Herbert Talbert Osburn and Willie Mae Mathis Osburn. Mr. Osburn was a US Army veteran that proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree and Master's degree. Mr. Osburn retired from the State of South Carolina as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with more than 30 years of dedicated service.

Mr. Osburn enjoyed tinkering on machines and collecting various items. His ingenuity assisted him in many projects around his home, as well as for family and neighbors. He was a member of a local Genealogy Society and Toastmaster's, where he previously served as the District Governor.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Frances S. Osburn; children, Wade Osburn (Margaret) of Hopkins, Donna Branham of West Columbia, and Karen Kubicki (Greg) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Dustin Branham (Cara), Dylan Branham, Gloria Kubicki, and Cristina Kubicki Curtis (Cameron); great grandchildren, Ellamie Branham, Leeloo Branham, and Dustin Branham, Jr.; brother-in-law,
Charles H. Sanford (Rosemary); sister-in-law, Rosemary Osburn, as well as his siblings, Billy James Talbert Osburn (Ann) and Geraldine Stroud (Jack). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dwight Branham, and his brother, Neil Osburn.

The graveside service for Mr. Osburn will be held at 10 o'clock, Friday, March 25th, at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229.
