Obituary
Dr. Jack Maxwell Valpey, 90, of Columbia, SC, passed away April 10th, 2023. Dr. Valpey was born to Mr. Norman and Mrs. Gladys Valpey in Marysville, CA on May 22nd, 1932. Dr. Valpey is survived by his loving wife, Uta K. Valpey; his children, Dennis Valpey, Michael Valpey (Pattie), and Sherie Thorn; and his grandchildren, Aidan Valpey, Sydney Valpey, and Stephanie Thorn.
Dr. Jack Valpey graduated from Stanford Medical School before joining the United States Army where he honorably served for 25 years. While serving in Germany, he met his loving wife, Uta. After retiring from the Army, he worked for the SC Department of Corrections for 36 years.
Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
