Margaret “Maxie” Amanda Feuerstein, 39, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Born February 24, 1982, in Columbia, she was the daughter to Dr. Paul Allan Feuerstein and Elizabeth Geiger Feuerstein Seale. Maxie was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbia, SC and of “Little People of America” (LPA). She attended Cardinal Newman High School and Richland Northeast High School. In 2017, Maxie graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Columbia College with Leadership Honors. In 2019, she began to earn her master’s degree in Individual & Family Counseling at Lenoir Rhyne University in Columbia, SC. Throughout her education, Maxie was an excellent student and a member of the Honor Society, Student Council, and frequent soloist in the Honors Chorus at Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary and E.L. Wright Middle School, and a Duke Tip Scholar in 7th grade. During high school, Maxie studied voice at Columbia College and sang and danced with “Bailey Fine Arts” at Town Theater in various musical theater performances. She studied tap, jazz, ballet, and modern dance for 14 years at “Bailey Fine Arts” performing both solo and group performances. She was selected by Richland County Public School District II to participate in the “Gifted and Talented Tri-District Consortium” at Columbia College in her favorite area of “dance” and received their highest award of the 4-year plaque. As a NE High School student, Maxie was a cheerleader, and a member of the “Gifted and Talented Drama Program” who was invited to perform at “The Fringe”, the World’s Largest Arts Festival, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Maxie’s passion and talents for musical performance/entertainment continued as she became a professional singer as the lead female singer in the “Mini Kiss” rock band and lead female vocalist with “Little Legends-Little People” in Las Vegas. She was also the featured vocal soloist in her own Las Vegas Show in a small theater singing pop songs of celebrity artists: Bette Midler, Brittney Spears, Cher, etc. Maxie was the featured performer as “Lil Gaga” on an episode of the Maury Povich TV Show and was later a finalist in the TV show- “The Littlest Groom”. Maxie was a bright, vivacious, and exceptionally talented young performer who also, enjoyed working part-time with Head Start Preschool Program and the Richland County Public School District # 1 afterschool program. Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Geiger Feuerstein Seale, of Columbia; her father, Dr. Paul Feuerstein (Tonya Jewell), of Pawley’s Island, SC; brother, Eric Scott Feuerstein (Pamela) of Blythewood, SC; sisters, Kimberly Gurnell Hearl (Greg) of Lexington, SC and Lainie Feuerstein Uschelbec (Jim) of Chapin, SC; nieces; Tristen Dale Hoffman of West Columbia, SC, Sarah Lacy Feuerstein of Charleston, SC, and Ellie Rose Feuerstein of Columbia. In addition to her maternal grandparents: Margaret Kneece and Brooker Geiger of Columbia, SC and paternal grandparents, Ida and Max Feuerstein of Del Ray Beach, FL, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Tyler Edward Sims of Lexington, SC. Maxie’s Celebration of Life will be held 3 o’clock, Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, with The Rev. Richard Humphries and The Rev. Stella Dempski-Causey officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o’clock. All are welcome to attend, however, masks are strongly encouraged, and social distancing practices will be observed to maintain a safe environment for all.
