    Mrs. Peggy W. Lee

    June 23, 1936 - March 17, 2022

    Peggy W. Lee, 85, of Winnsboro, SC, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. Born June 23, 1936, in Forsythe County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of Charlie Gray Whicker and Vada Estell Whicker. Mrs. Lee retired from Allied Chemical/Signal with over 35 years of dedicated service and owned and operated a local fireworks stand (Lee’s Fireworks) for many years. She was a member of Lake Wateree Baptist Church in Ridgeway. Mrs. Lee served as the church secretary for 15 years and was a member of the Happy Hearts Group. She cared deeply for her church family, and they loved her in return. Mrs. Lee’s greatest love was her family. She enjoyed hosting the family’s special occasions and the family vacations at Ocean Lakes Campground in Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Lee will be remembered as the heart and soul of her family. She gifted all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with the ability to be kind and gentle. Mrs. Lee was the most positive and happy person in the room. She taught everyone to look at the bright side of life, as well as to use laughter and prayer to help you through the tough times. Survivors include her children, Debbie Reaves, Patricia Rexroad (Roger), Linda Reaves Lee (Phillip), and Lawrence L. Lee (Becky); son-in-law, Keith Nowak; grandchildren, Michelle Sligh-Peters (Mike Peters), Bryan W. Sligh, John Knox, Roger J. Rexroad (Sabrina), Tonya Hallman (Gary), Magin Lee Jackson (Clyde), Krystal Lee Farmer (Brent), Lonnie Grey Hutson Lee, and Lawrence James Cole Lee; as well as numerous great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Daniel C. Reaves, Lonnie L. Lee, James Mullins, and Bobby Miller; daughter, Sandra Lynn Reaves; siblings, Charles Odell Whicker, Jean Whicker Allport, James Nathaniel Whicker, and Rebecca Whicker Freeman. The graveside service for Mrs. Lee will be held at 1 o'clock, Monday, March 21st, at Lake Wateree Baptist Church Cemetery, 5856 River Rd, Ridgeway, SC 29130. The family will receive family and friends from 3 until 5 o'clock Sunday at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC 29223. Memorials may be sent to Lake Wateree Baptist Church, 5856 River Rd, Ridgeway, SC 29130.
