Mr. Robert Keith Shear

March 18, 1945 - October 26, 2021

Bob Shear of Columbia, SC died October 26th, 2021, following a sudden illness. Bob, son of Myron & Frieda Shear, was born in Kansas City, KS. He played basketball and football at Hiawatha High School in northeast Kansas and then attended Baker University, graduating in 1967. Bob and Jane married in 1966 and spent the first 36 years of their marriage moving between military installations in the United States and Korea as Bob worked in civil service for the Department of the Army. He is survived by Jane, sons Rob and John, favorite daughter-in-law Sabrina, and four grandchildren—Madison, Addison, Grant, and Hartlee Jane. In retirement Bob enjoyed keeping up with his grandkids’ activities, spending an annual vacation at the beach, and making a family calendar with pictures of the kids and grandkids. He was Federation President for South Carolina for the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and was a faithful member of Forest Lake Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church (FLPC) on Tuesday, November 2nd at 2 PM. Memorials may be made to the FLPC endowment fund or the FLPC memorial garden fund.
