Sherry LaMoy Fasano, 65, of Rembert, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2022. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, on February 15, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Leo Donald LaMoy and Maxine Geiger LaMoy. Sherry was a woman of strong Christian faith and a devout member of First Baptist Church in Camden.
After graduating from Spring Valley High School, Sherry pursued a career at SCE&G where she met her husband, George Fasano, Jr. In the 43 years of their marriage, Sherry's interest in gardening and antiques helped her hone to an art, the ability to create a loving and beautiful home for George and their children.
In addition to these interests, Sherry was an avid reader, storyteller, and writer. Her words painted vivid portraits of the people and places she loved and most often bore acclamations of Sherry's Christian faith and served as another avenue allowing her to reach out to others hoping to draw them into relationship with Christ.
Most recently, Sherry remarked to a friend that she believed we are all blessed with a gift to use in this world. She claimed her gift was to care for and comfort others, particularly the elderly, the neglected, and the ones in need to whom she was naturally drawn. In her relationships with these, her faith shined brightly, demonstrating clearly what the Lord meant when he commanded that we love one another.
Loving others was indeed Sherry's greatest gift. Her gentle spirit, caring heart, and commitment to living God's Word will always be remembered. In addition to her husband George, she is survived by her son, George Andrew LaMoy Fasano (Rebecca); daughters, Sara Fasano Player (Shane) and Kamlin Fasano Robertson (Bryan); grandson, Landon LaMoy Player; granddaughters, Mary Miles Player and Lyla James Fasano. And to each with a smile and a hug, she would certainly say at this moment, "I love your liver and gizzard."
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude toward Prisma Hospice of Sumter and Dr. Karin Jenkins for the exceptional love and care shown towards Sherry during these difficult times.
