Mr. Warren Martin Wardlaw, Jr.

December 17, 1958 - May 12, 2022

Warren Martin Wardlaw "Marty" 63, of Columbia, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 17, 1958. Marty grew up in Darlington before moving to Columbia with his family in 1979. He was predeceased by his parents Rev. Warren Martin Wardlaw, D.D. and Mary Wood Wardlaw. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Teresa Wardlaw, his sister and brother-in-law Alice and Roger Scholl, numerous nieces and nephews. Also, Marty was a Great-Uncle to Cash and Hayes Savage. Marty loved worshiping, singing in church, watching all sports and the Weather Channel. Marty’s passion was being a Gamecock Fan and attending Camp Joy every year. Marty was most loving and kind. He was a blessing to love and he loved everyone, unless you were pulling against the Gamecocks or the Braves. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers who helped and loved Marty over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Joy in care of First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, South Carolina in his loving memory. The graveside service for Marty will be held at 12 o'clock on Monday, May 16th, at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
