Ada D. Greene, 87, of Columbia, widow of the late CSM Earl W. Greene, died Friday, April 5, 2013. Born December 10, 1925 in Lincoln County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late S.L. "Summy" McGinnis and Dare Rhyne McGinnis. Ada was a member of Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Hilda (James) Ellisor, Brenda (Steve) Roberts; son, Robert Greene (Todd); nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; siblings, Inez Cloninger, Betty Hasting, Bessie Bowman, C.A. McGinnis, all of NC; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her sons, Kenny and Earl Greene; and grandson, Michael Greene.

A graveside service for Mrs. Greene will be held at 12:30 o'clock, Monday, April 8th, at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Rd, with The Rev. Trey Pruitt officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 o'clock, Monday morning, at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia.
