Mr. Adelbert Alexander Atwood, 72, of West Columbia, died on Sunday, May 29, 2022. Born August 20, 1949, in Colombia, South America, he was a son of the late Adelbert Edward and Natalie Schlinsky Atwood. Mr. Atwood was a member of True Pentecostal Church in Cayce, SC. He had a long career in commercial construction, where he was employed in various roles. He was a loving husband who enjoyed more than 40 years of marriage to the late Frances Ravenel Atwood.

Survivors include his siblings, Faith Altman, James Atwood, Gloria Dorris, and Susie Poston. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Atwood; as well as his sisters, Eunice Spires, Bernice Shumpert, Ariel Arehardt, and Victoria Dickman.

A private graveside service will be held at Scott Family Cemetery in Aiken, SC. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
