Alfred James Davis, Jr., 58, of Columbia, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015. Born in St. Louis, MO, he was a son of the late Marie J. McHenry Davis and step-son of the late Nelson "Pops" Talbert. Alfred retired from the US Army after 23 years of service. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, the American Legion Riders, Post 6, and the Moore Light Masonic Lodge #468.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Adelhardt Davis; daughters, Andraya Jessica Davis, Angelica Jennifer Davis, Magdalena Therese Davis; step-daughter, Christine Ellsmore (Paul Frink); sisters, M. Teri Davis-Watson (Griff), Annette Davis Meade, Sherri Davis, Tonie Mitchell (Anthony), Elizabeth Davis Lynch (Grantley); brother, Aaron Davis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service for Mr. Davis will be held 12 o'clock, Wednesday, September 2nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd, Columbia. Burial will follow at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 11 o'clock.
The family invites friends to join them at the Fort Jackson Officers' Club following the burial.
