Mrs. Alfreda Maynell Brewer, 80, of Blythewood, SC, died Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was born to the late Mrs. Maynelle Branham Martin and the late Mr. Alfred Martin, Sr. on June 29, 1944 in Lancaster, SC.

She attended Blythewood Baptist Church and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She worked at Stone Manufacturing for over 25 years until the plant closed in 1998. She then found her true calling at Trinity Learning Center in Blythewood. There, she impacted the lives of many children everyday until she retired in 2018. She loved flowers, working in her yard and watching her hummingbirds. She enjoyed having get togethers with her family and friends and loved children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Bobbie Ann Armstrong (Michael), Robert Brewer (Linda), Lisa Hogue (John), and Russell Brewer (Wendy); grandchildren, Marie Branham, Josh Brewer (Sami), Alicia Hino (Jason), Jesse Brewer (Sarah), J.C. Hogue (Sandy), Mackenzie Brewer (Charlie Martin), Michelle Armstrong, Shane Hogue (Diana), Malinda Brewer, and Anthony Armstrong; great grandchildren, Catelyn Daily, Easton Hino, James Branham, Jesse Brewer IV, Waylon Brewer, and Aubree Hogue; and sisters, Carol Owens, Rebecca Craft, Connie Bennett, and Sandra Hartness.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Jesse Robert Brewer, Sr.; and brothers, Alfred Martin Jr. and William Nathan Martin.

The family will receive guests on Friday, August 30, from 5:00 until 7:00 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC. The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 31, at 3:00 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Ebenezer Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery, 1010 Old Sloan Road, Columbia, SC.
