Alice Faye Hamilton, 79, of Columbia, died on Friday, February 24, 2023. Born in Mullins, SC, on February 17, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie Sawyer and Mary Davis Sawyer Rogers.

Mrs. Hamilton was a member of Fish Hatchery Road Church of God and enjoyed being with her family, shopping and eating seafood, especially oysters. Her career was spent around children in different positions of Childcare. She was an avid Gamecock fan and loved to spend time with her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Hamilton Sloan (Allen); son, Patrick Dowe Hamilton, Jr.; grandson, Jason Allen Sloan (Wallyce-Olivia Dowey); great-grandchildren, Sylar Dowey Sloan and Piper Willow Sloan; as well as siblings, Doris Coleman, JoAnn Black and Larry Sawyer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Dowe Hamilton, Sr.; and siblings, Bobbie Lee Britt, Fred Sawyer, Dwight Sawyer; as well as seven half siblings.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hamilton will be held at 3 o'clock, Tuesday, February 29th, at Fish Hatchery Road Church of God, 3249 Fish Hatchery Rd, Gaston, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 2 o'clock. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family.
