Alice Williams Mixon, 73, of Columbia, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Born December 11, 1941, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Jimmie Brooks Williams and Florrie Neeley Williams. Mrs. Mixon was a wonderful, dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved knitting, crocheting, cooking and getting together monthly with her sisters.

Surviving are a daughter, Tracy M. LaRose (William); sons, Kenneth Mixon and Kevin Mixon; grandchildren, Taylor Kotula, Brian Mixon, Aimee Mixon, Kaitlyn Mixon, Olivia Mixon, Lindsay Zang, Kelly LaRose, Laura LaRose, Tanya Mixon, Grace Mixon, Luke Mixon and Danica Mixon; and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Doris Manley, Catherine Legrand, Nell Hornsby; and brother, Jimmie Williams. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mixon was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Mixon; brothers, Carl Williams, Dawson Williams and Wayne Williams.

The funeral service for Mrs. Mixon will be held at 12 o'clock, Friday, August 28th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Thursday evening, at the funeral home.
