Alice "Wee" Frances Umont Walker of Columbia, SC joined her Lord in glory on Monday, May 9, 2016.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband, William Fletcher Walker Sr.; longtime companion, Alex Reynolds; son, Henry Walker; brother, Joe Umont; and sister, Helen Dye. Alice is survived by her son, William Fletcher Walker Jr. (Sue Edwards); daughters, Beth Morrison (Mike), Marilyn Lomas (Steve), Lorraine Abell (Richard); brother, Michael Peer (Jenny); daughter-in-law, Wallis Riser (George). Alice has nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

A graduate of Columbia High School and retired from the Department of Revenue with over 30 years of service, she was a huge fan of Carolina football and lover of jazz music. More than that, Alice loved her family and always had an open door and space at the table for a helping of her wonderful potato salad and a visit. Her home was a hub of family activity for generations that allowed the family to stay well connected with each other.

Services will be held Friday, May 13th at 11:00 am at Main Street United Methodist Church in Columbia, where she was a member for 90 years. The interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Thursday, May 12th from 6 until 8 pm at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Extension, Columbia.
