Alma Ard Grooms

Alma Ard Grooms , 82, of Columbia, died on Monday, May 18, 2026. Born on November 24, 1943, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Guy McBride Ard and Marie Coker Ard.

Survivors includes her son, Eric Grooms; grandson, Cody Grooms (Taylor); grandsons, Jackson Grooms, Hudson Grooms; extended family, Brian Casey (Kimberly), Jay Jeffers (Laura). In addition to family, she was blessed with many friends and "the boys" at the shop.

The funeral service for Mrs. Grooms will be held at 12 o’clock on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Shives Funeral Home, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 11 o’clock until 12 o’clock. Burial will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC.
